From today, UNISON will be sending out ballot papers to members covered by NJC pay.

UNISON is the largest union representing local government workers and school support staff and the vast majority of members in England, Wales and Northern Ireland will be balloted in the coming weeks over pay.

After years of austerity, the value of council and school pay has fallen by 25% in real terms. Jobs have been cut, workloads have gone up, yet pay hasn’t even kept up with the rising cost of living. We know that everyone needs and deserves a pay rise that keeps up with housing, bills, and food prices. So now we are asking UNISON members to rise up to get pay up. Over the next six weeks we are asking you to help ensure that every single member of your branch votes and returns their ballot paper.
